How to bake hotdogs 🌭

Making hotdogs at home includes preparing the sausages and then cooking them. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

 Ingredients:

                    For the Sausages:
  - 1 lb (450g) ground beef or pork (or a mixture of both)
  - 1/4 cup ice water
  - 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  - 1 teaspoon paprika
  - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  - 1 teaspoon onion powder
  - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  - Sausage casings (natural or synthetic) if you want to stuff them

- For Cooking:
  - Hot dog buns
  - Desired toppings (mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, etc.)

 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sausage Mixture:
   - In a large bowl, combine the ground meat with the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and nutmeg. Mix well.
   - Gradually add the ice water to the mixture, mixing until well combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky and cohesive.

2. Stuff the Sausages (Optional):
   - If using sausage casings, rinse them thoroughly and soak in water as per the package instructions.
   - Fit a sausage stuffer onto the casings and fill them with the meat mixture, being careful not to overstuff. Twist the sausages into 6-inch links or as desired. Tie the ends with kitchen twine or tie knots.
   - If you don’t have a sausage stuffer, you can shape the mixture into patties or use hot dog molds.

3. Cook the Sausages:

   - Boiling: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook the sausages for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. You can also add some spices or aromatics to the water for extra flavor.

   - Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the sausages for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through.

   - Pan-Frying: Heat a little oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausages, turning occasionally, for about 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.

4. Prepare the Buns:
   - You can toast the hot dog buns on a grill or in a toaster for added texture.

5. Assemble the Hot Dogs:
   - Place each sausage in a bun. Add your favorite toppings such as mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, pickles, or any other condiments you prefer.

6. Serve:
   - Enjoy your homemade hot dogs while hot!

You can add more  seasoning to suit your taste!
