How to Prepare Delicious Spaghetti at Home

                                Ingredients

200g spaghetti

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

400g canned tomatoes (or fresh, diced)

1 tsp dried oregano or basil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Water for boiling

                           Instructions

1. Boil the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.

Cook the spaghetti until al dente (about 8-10 minutes).

Drain the pasta but save about ½ cup of pasta water for the sauce.

2. Prepare the Sauce

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and golden (around 3-5 minutes).

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

3. Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Pour in the canned tomatoes (or fresh ones) and stir everything together.

Sprinkle in oregano or basil, and season with salt and pepper.

Let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce becomes too thick, add the reserved pasta water to thin it out.

4. Combine Spaghetti and Sauce

Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the sauce and toss it all together until the pasta is fully coated.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

5. Serve and Garnish

Plate the spaghetti and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, if desired.

Serve immediately and enjoy this delicious homemade meal!

                      Pro Tip:

If you want an even richer flavor, try adding a splash of red wine or a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce for a slight kick!
